Dish Ingredients

  • 800 grams mulukhiyah.
  • 3 cups water.
  • ¼ cup lemon.
  • ½ cup extra-virgin olive oil.
  • ½ cup boiled tamarind, mashed and drained.
  • 2 tablespoons fresh crushed garlic.
  • ¼ teaspoon honey.
  • ¼ teaspoon cumin.
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt.

Preparation Method

  1. At first, soak a piece of tamarind in hot water, then leave it to boil on low heat for 10 minutes.
  2. Wash the mulukhiyah well with water.
  3. Put the mulukhiyah in a saucepan with a little olive oil over low heat until the leaves absorb the oil.
  4. Add all the other ingredients to the mulukhiyah, including boiling water, then cover and simmer until cooked.
Note: It usually takes 30-40 minutes.
  1. Serve with whole-grain bread or medium-grain brown rice.

Mulukhiyah Effect on Sterility

Molokhia contains folic acid, beta carotene, iron, calcium, phosphorous, potassium, sodium, and vitamin C.
