Salads are Critical for A Healthy Diet

A salad is a healthy dish, especially if it contains nutrient-dense vegetables. It may provide vitamin A, vitamin C, beta carotene, calcium, folate and fiber. It is also a good choice for a healthy diet because most salads do not contain cholesterol and they are low in calories and sodium. Let’s learn one of the delicious and beneficial salads for herpes patients, green salad with cherries and beetroot.

Amino acids: which ones are beneficial and which ones are harmful to herpes?

Why do herpes patients need to avoid certain types of food? The answer is related to the levels of arginine and lysine, both of which are essential amino acids that help build muscles and important for overall health.

However, arginine helps the herpes simplex virus to replicate; therefore, herpes outbreaks will be more likely to happen. While lysine helps reduce the replication of this virus.

Some people might think that it is easy to add more lysine to the diet and avoid arginine; however, it is not. As previously mentioned, arginine is essential for our muscles; therefore, our body needs it. However, in order to reduce herpes outbreaks, we need to reduce the amount of arginine in our diet and increase the amount of lysine.

Salad ingredients for herpes

The daily interactions in our bodies naturally produce free radicals that can cause cell damage and weaken the immune system. On the other hand, antioxidants are molecules that neutralize free radicals.

The ingredients in this salad contain various antioxidants, such as flavonoids, beta-carotene, vitamin A, vitamin K and vitamin C. These antioxidants strengthen the immune system by increasing the production of antibodies and white blood cells. This can help fight the herpes simplex virus and reduce the severity of its symptoms.

Moreover, beetroot and cherry have more lysine than arginine, which is necessary for herpes patients to limit the outbreak. In addition, they contain vitamin A and vitamin C that are important for nourishing the skin and thus speeding up cold sores relief.
